What to do
- Distribute the precut flipbooks. Each book has flaps (depending on the student's level).
- Students will select the number of vocabulary words to match the number of flaps on their flipbooks.
- Students will write the word on the outside flap, write a sentence or definition on the inside of that flap, and then draw a picture that represents that vocabulary word. All work can be done in pencil, markers, crayons, chalk, etc...

I attended a professional development presented by McGraw Hill. The representative shared various activities with the teachers. This activity caught my eye. I have been using this activity in all of the subject areas. It makes a wonderful assessment tool, and the children love it.
