Goal: identify the word connect/explain the meaning, use word in a meaningful sentence |
Items: amphibians, reptiles, venomous |
What to do
- Choose three vocabulary words. write the words on flash cards
- Introduce the book to students.
- Tell the students the three words and their meanings.Have students repeat words and their meanings-my turn, your turn.
- Then read the book to the students.
- Tell the students when you hear me repeat a vocabulary words, raise your hand.Praise students with correct response.
- Identify, underline the vocabulary words in the book. Then have students partner read book, then discuss it.
- Have students draw/sketch other reptiles that they are familiar with. Encourage them to include as many vocabulary words from the selection as possible.
