Goal: Given a journal topic, write a brief paragraph with a beginning, middle, and end using time-ordered words.

What to do

  1. First, select the a topic/theme to write about.
  2. Next, put the framework on the board to provide the students with a guide/model.
  3. Have students begin writing and engage in simple writing process activity.

About this activity

This activity introduces the student to the concept that writing has to follow a flow and connect with ideas, purposely applying sequence words. Writing should be meaningful and cohesive at the same time. It should also relate to the topic being addressed.
